The only problem is that I have to wait until Mexico qualifies and then If the team qualifies I will have to wait for the list of cities for the group of Mexico.

The problem is that I am afraid that I will not be able to find rooms in hostels/hotels or that eeverything is going to be very expensive.

Found an offer e.g. a ** hotel in Berlin for the final EUR 69,50 for a double room incl. breakfast. Minimum stay 3 days.

A method which will work is to stay not directly in the host cities, but in nearby towns/cities. Works also for trad fairs etc.
The distances in Germany are not that big and the public transport is excellent.

Ticket sales start at 1st February 2005. Prices from EUR 35,- to EUR 600,- (1st cat. final). The tickets will also be valid for local public transport in the host city.
The drawing of the teams for the group plays will only take place in December 2005.

I don’t excpect major problems with public transport. It’s not the first time that these stadiums are sold out. And some cities (Munich: Oktoberfest, Cologne: Carneval, Berlin: LoveParade NYE, Hannover: CeBIT) are hosting anually events which have more visitors (hundred thousands or even millions).

Accommodation will be a bigger problem in some cities.
At cities which are inside a bigger conurbation (Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart) you’ll have a lot of hotel alternatives in nearby cities/towns.
Least dense populated are the regions around Kaiserlautern and Berlin. Good for camping sites and vacation appartments, but for hotels you may have to stay in these cities itself.

In Frankfurt I don’t have to worry about lodging, but I did want to go to Berlin and Dusseldorf…but that’s a great idea not to stay in host cities…especially since the public transportation is so good in Europe, I’ll be able to take late trains back to where ever I’ll be staying.

And it’s also helpful to know when tickets are going on sale!! I’m so excited. Too bad it’s a ways away yet.
