The world cup will be over by Mid-July so you’ll miss those crowds. You’d be surprised how swept up in soccer you could get once you’re there so I wouldn’t rule it out completely The europeans converted me!

Ditto on giving soccer a chance. I too was converted in the 90’s when my friend’s home town was the Deutschefussballmeister. Everybody including the family pet go into it. It was more a communal bonding thing than pure football craze. BTW it isn’t just for wild hooligans.

But if you don’t like crowds check it out from a pub instead of the stadium.

I will be in Munchen from June 23 to July 2.

I don’t have tickets but hell…just sitting in a pub IN Germany during the games is an unforgettable moment.

I was in Amsterdam for the 2002 games…the whole vibe…Phenominal!

I plan on just hanging around by the stadium when the game is on and watching the rest at pubs.
