worth bringing TINY laptop?
Tue, 06/24/2008 - 14:38
So I have a really small laptop that I would like to bring, it is only about 2-3 lbs so it would not be difficult to bring, I am more worried about security for it than anything. Among my concerns is that I will be on trains a lot, so I’m concerned while i’m sleeping someone may snatch it. What do you guys think?
The main reason I want it is so that I can get on skype and talk to fam back home as well as check the internet for things to do, etc.
Personally i don’t take anything expensive or that i would care about if it was lost or stolen, as it can quite often be a hassle, despite its size it may well be a weight on your mind if you will worry about it getting stolen. It is up to yourself and a lot of people do take things like laptop’s on long trip’s and have no problems.
Most hostel’s provide internet access plus internet cafe’s are common in western European city’s and many can be found in eastern European city’s

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
I agree with Davy that it’s a matter of personal preference. I don’t take mine unless I’m going to be in one place, where I’m sure I’ll have high speed internet access, for about two weeks and I don’t even take it then if the trip involves lots of traveling around.
Thanks for the replies!
