I’ve been offered some work in Shoshone Nat. Forest in Wyoming this spring and summer, mainly at elevations between 3,000-13,000 feet in remote areas, but I’d really like some more information about conditions in the area before I accept. I’ve never been to this part of the country – can anyone give me an idea of daytime and nighttime average temperatures and weather conditions at those altitudes? Also (don’t mean to sound like a total weenie) how likely are bear encounters?
Would these be problematic or is the danger actually fairly slight when taking a few precautions (whatever those would be)? Any advice is appreciated, I’m completely unfamiliar with this part of the US.
