Can someone help me out with picking a trip that is good for a group of 18 year olds? Meaning that the countries it includes are nice, affordable, good nightlife, and as close together as possible. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

How much research have you already done?
What time of year are you traveling? How much money have you saved?
Have you looked at this suggested itinerary? It would at least give you something to go on.

I’m in the same situation wadefan06!
My suggestion, which I’ve found useful for me, is try to find cheap cities. Obviously things like Paris you cannot miss, but as 18 year old it’s essential to find affordable places. My group and I deleted Oslo from our list because it’s a very expensive city. Think about things like that!

pandemonium thanks for your comment! im glad to hear that someone else is in my situation. How many people are in your traveling group? I need to know so i can get an idea of how many people I should be traveling with. Also have in mind that the countries u plan on visiting should be as close together as possible. u dont wanna be blowing all your money on long train rides and flights!

Definitely, wadefan06!
I’m traveling with I think 10 people, but some are still unsure about going. If you’re traveling with 18, remember most hostels have group discounts, so look into that!
My cities are somewhat close together, but looking for the perfect train ticket, or flight, etc. is getting hard. I’m meeting up with a travel agency that knows about this stuff. I suggest you look for youth travel agencies, they’re the ones who sell student ID’s for discounts, etc., for Europe!

Pandemonium,

I think wadefan meant 18 year olds, not 18 people.

A group of ten people will be difficult if you’re not experienced in traveling. The largest group I’ve traveled with was 6 (including myself), but we were all seasoned travelers. You should still be able to make it work. If you guys find out that the ten of you have very divergent interests, then plan to separate into smaller groups once in a while. Have some sort of plan, and definitely arrange to have cell phones with you. If you have any questions about cell phones, then ask away.

Wadefan,

I’m not trying to be dick here…I’m genuinely trying to help you when I ask: don’t you have any curiosity at all about the world? Isn’t there a part of the world that you’ve always wanted to visit? A country or group of countries that you’ve read about, and now you finally want to go ahead and visit? Haven’t you ever cracked open a travel book, encyclopedia, or Googled any specific countries out of curiosity? Seen any pictures online of interesting places, or a travel show on TV that caught your interest? I mean, with a question like “Hi! I wanna go somewhere! Where should I go?!” How do we answer that?

All major cities in Europe will have nightlife and all will be safer than American cities.
