Hey all, I will be flying to Zagreb for a nine-day trip in March. Travelling with a friend. Our main destination goal is Sarajevo(prob 2-3 days I guess..) I would also like to get over to the Montenegran coast, with maybe a day-trip to Dubrovnik and/or Split if doable..

Anyway, I’m totally ignorant of the whole place..

Good tips about places to stay in Z, S?

Must sees/dos??

We’re going to rent a car. Tips? Dos/don’ts? How long should it take from Z to S?

Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated…

Thanks..

We rented a car in Slovenia and driving was very user-friendly in English. The original plan was to drive to Zagreb, but crossing the border into Croatia and drop-off in a different country more than doubled the price, so we took the train instead. Be sure to read the fine print about drop off charges and which countries you can drive in. Overall, Croatia was slightly less user-friendly in English than Slovenia, but you I doubt you’ll have any trouble driving in Croatia.

I would pick Dubrovnik over Split for a day trip.
