Hi all

I was looking at making this a pit stop on my way from Barcelona to Pamplona this July (yup, sanfermines)

Anyone spend time in this city? I checked lonelyplanet.com but didn’t get much.

Thanks

Hi,

I’ve spent the night in Zaragoza, and its a nice town. There is a two beautiful churches to visit there as well as a nice older part of town to walk through.

The Cathedral Basilica of la Virgen del Pilar is one of Spain’s most beautiful and popular; and then, not to far outside the city (in Fuendetodos) is the birthplace of Francisco de Goya, who, by the way, did some of the Frescoes in the Cathedral. As I recall, there’s a small Goya museum there (in Fuendetodos).

Zaragoza is Capital of Aragon. If you’re there on a Sunday you might be lucky enough to see Aragonese dancers (and musicians) doing Jotas Aragonesas.
