Zermatt Question
Wed, 05/25/2005 - 19:20
Hello, I’m going to be travelling around Austria/Switzerland for a week or so and I think I have it pretty well planned out. However, I was wondering if anyone could answer a quick question about Zermatt. I will be arriving there at about 2:00 in the afternoon and leaving early the next morning. I wanted to go on some sort of hike (or maybe a bike ride if they rent bikes anywhere) that had good views of the area but didn’t involve anything to costly. I looked in a few travel books but none of them had particularly interesting recommendations on where to hike in just a short afternoon. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, if you don’t mind, are any of the hostels/inexpesive hotels particularly good or bad? It’d be good to know in advance.

Ok, this isn’t necessarily the cheapest but I read that accomodations in this area is expensive anyway. I’ll be there in early August and plan to stay at Hotel Banhoff www.hotelbahnhof.com… It has dorms for 33 Sfr..yeah kinda expensive, if anyone can find something cheaper, please let me know =)
