About 1/3 of this was posted a while ago but the rest didn’t save. Hopefully this shows 94 days when it posts!

Budget it strange…Flights have already been paid for (including own way to Turkey, Istanbul to Budapest, Vienna return from Russia, and flight home from Frankfurt at conclusion.) Only flight let to book will be Barcelona – London (or Paris).

Will be using Busabout from Venice to Barcelona and alo Paris to Amsterdam.

Have Austra/Czech/Germany/Switzerland Eurail pass for 10 days in 2 months.

I see Australians need a visa for Russia — hopefully you either already have them or it’s easier and less expensive for you than for US citizens…..

Hey friends, I’m new here and actually ran into this thread while thinking about where to begin with on this beautiful site Smile Well, I’m on the verge of planning a family-trip to Europe for late 2009 (personally been to NL, BE and FR last September but it was a bit unplanned so it didn’t feel enough already). Anyway, this is my first message and I’d really like to help if needed.
I’m from Istanbul btw Wink
Greetings..

Passport and application came back from Russian embassy yesterday…all systems go
Just waiting on the Vietnam visa approval now, we’re spending 2 weeks there on the way back to Australia.

Ucosk…see you in 7 weeks!

Ahhhh why isn’t the rest of my trip here? Here’s the rest:

From Zurich we’re off to Gimmelwald, then down to Italy: Venice, Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre via Busabout. Then to Barcelona via French Riviera, flight to London stay a couple of days then train to Paris, off to Brugges, Amsterdam, and down the Rhine to Frankfurt.

Too bad about the Busabout…I know lots of people do the bus thing, but it truly takes the adevnture out of travel IMHO. Unless yuou have an emotional attachment to Frankfurt (just a dull business city) you might want to consider someplace else

Yeah we only used Busabout for 6 trips, was better value for us. We also used a 4 country rail pass and flew to many other places so Busabout didn’t dictate that much of our trip.
Frankfurt was booked as our flight out, only reason we went there. Was fine but I agree definitely not a must-see on the tourist circuit!
