Hey!
Any help out trip would be greatly appreciated, particularly with places to visit, things to see, and number of days needed for each place.
Thanks, Lysh x
5 days in Salzburg might be a bit much. Nice place but after you see the castle, the mozart museum and maybe do one of those “Sound of Music” bus tours, there isn’t much else doing. 2 days would probably be enough.
With the days cut from Salzburg you could add a daytrip to Fussen from Munich and visit Neuschwanstein castle (make sure to hike to the bridge and gorge behind the castel for a spectaular view).
I personally think Frankfurt is a dud. Just a big business city with little character. Heidleberg is an exceptionally preserved medieval city as is Marburg and both could be vissted as you travel towards Amsterdam.
Why are you going to Amsterdam twice? Why not just start with London, then Paris, Madrid and then do Cologne, Brugges and Amsterdam on your way back (Depart from Amsterdam by train to London). Would save some time having to retrace your steps.
hi finnegan,
thanks for your help. the 5 days in salzberg include a day trip or so to neuschwanstein castle and a few other short trips. the reason being for so long there is that a friend is living there and i’m catching up with him.
i wasn’t too sure about where to go after i leave salzberg, it depends if my friend will be travelling with me or not. i thought of heading to frankfurt purely because i have other friends that live there also, but that would be the only reason. are there other places you would recommend instead?
we wanted to do amsterdam at the start of the trip so both of us could visit there (as one of us is leaving to come back to aus mid-july), so any other suggestions of where to go instead of amsterdam again would be great! i was thinking prague but have been told it’s a bit risky alone as a young female and i’m not too sure if my friend from salzberg will be travelling with me.
thanks again for your help!
